Nick Scotella is an active drill writer, designer, instructor, clinician and adjudicator for marching bands, drum corps, and indoor performance ensembles throughout the United States. Nick specializes in custom drill / visual design, BOA, DCI, and WGI.
Nick Scotella is an active drill designer, instructor, clinician, and adjudicator bringing a wealth of experience to drum corps, marching band, and indoor performance ensembles.
Nick's performance career started at the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps as a member from 1997-2001, serving as horn captain in 2000-2001. Nick was a member of the Phantom Regiment visual staff in 2005 and 2007, before becoming the visual designer for the 2008 and 2009 Phantom Regiment, whose production "Spartacus" won the 2008 DCI World Championships. Nick served as the Visual Designer and Visual Caption Supervisor for the 2013 Music City Drum and Bugle Corps. Music City Drum Corps was one of a record five Open Class Drum Corps to advance to DCI World Class Semi-Finals in 2013.
Nick has designed shows for BOA Super-Regional and Regional Finalists Leander HS (TX), Westlake HS (TX), Pflugerville HS (TX), Rampart HS (CO), 2A Champion Loveland HS (CO), and Bingham HS (UT).
In addition to his band and drum corps experience, Nick is an accomplished visual designer and adjudicator for indoor performance ensembles across the United States. He served as visual designer for the 2008 PAS National Champion University of North Texas indoor drum line and 2011 European Tour Show. He has judged with the Texas Color Guard Circuit, North Texas Color Guard Association, Rocky Mountain Color Guard Association, San Joaquin Valley Color Guard, Western Band Association, Colorado Band Masters Association, and Reno State Championships.
Nick is currently the Assistant Band Director at Fairview High School in Boulder Colorado.
